Sonakshi Sinha starrer ‘Noor’ has been released in cinemas. Directed by Sunhil Sippy, The film is based on Pakistani author Saba Imtiaz’s novel Karachi, You’re Killing Me! and follows a Indian journalist-writer Noor’s misadventures and love life as she navigates her way through Mumbai.

Story of the movie: Noor (Sonakshi Sinha) is a journalist, but hates her life as according to her everything in her life is going wrong. Her father loves the pet cat more than her; she is forced to cover the stories and the interviews which she doesn’t want to. For example, an interview of Sunny Leone (by the way, as an entertainment reporter, I would like to point out that interviewing Sunny is not a bad thing at all). Well, she wants to do hard beat journalism like some hard-hitting story, and finally she gets one. How Noor’s life takes the turn after she does that story, for this you have to watch the movie.

Star Performance: Sonakshi Sinha, delivers a show-stealing performance as the gritty, yet troubled, Noor. Other cast including Kanan Gill, Shibani Dandekar and Purab Kohli have done justice to their roles.

Music Direction: The film’s music is good.

Direction: The film’s direction, location and camera work is amazing. Cinematography is good. By the way, the story of the film is based on the famous Novel, but seems very weak when watching. The first half of Noor is very enjoyable and breezy, thanks to the light-hearted proceedings and snappy dialogues. Though nothing major happens plot-wise till much later, the screenplay is quite engaging showing the travails of Noor as she struggles with life, love and career.

Watch Or Not: The films can be watched once. Rest, your choice!
