Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone who is all set to appear in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus ‘Padmaavat’ has recently visited Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai to seek blessings of lord Ganesha.
The actress visits the temple amid heavy police security.
The actress looks resplendent in a simple white suit.
The actress will play the role of Rani Padmini in the film.
Padmavat has been surrounded by controversies right from the very beginning as right-wing Hindu and Rajput groups objected to the release of the movie. They called Padmavat a distortion of historical facts and an insult to Rajput traditions and culture.
The film, starring Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh in lead roles, is based on the saga of historic battle of 13th century between Maharaja Ratan Singh and his army of Mewar and Sultan Alauddin Khilji of Delhi.
The film is slated to release on January 25.
