Fraud husband, attempt to rap; these are some untold facts about late model Kritika Choudhary

Model and TV actress Kritika Choudhary was found dead in her Andheri West apartment on June 13, 2017.  The police suspect that the 23-year-old was murdered in her apartment. A complaint was launched by her neighbors due to foul smell emitting from her flat.

A day after her post-mortem report confirmed that Kritika was murdered, the Mumbai Police are looking into the alleged role of her ex-husband in the murder.

The man, identified as Vijay Dwivedi, had been arrested in 2012 by the Mumbai Police Crime Branch for allegedly duping several film personalities and politicians posing as the son of Congress leader Janardhan Dwivedi. In the list Govinda, TV actress Shweta Tiwari, Balaji Telefilms’ Ekta Kapoor, Congress leader Amrit Patel are included.

Kritika Chuadhary’s brother Deepak (25) said his sister had divorced Dwivedi in 2012. “He has several criminal cases registered against him,” said Deepak, adding the two had met in Delhi in 2012, where Dwivedi is also alleged to have accessed VIP tickets for the 2010 Commonwealth Games claiming to be related to Janardhan Dwivedi.

Dwivedi had promised Chaudhary to find her roles in Bollywood and persuaded her to shift with him to Mumbai, where they got married, the police said.

Meanwhile Congress leader Janardan Dwivedi called Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan and said that someone is deceiving people by his name. Chavan handed over inquiry to crime branch, then Vijay was arrested from a building in Lokhandwala complex. When he was arrested by the Mumbai Crime Branch, then at that time Kritika was with him in the flat. Her heart broke with this incident. When she got real information about Vijay, she felt betrayed with him and divorced him.

The Amboli police started investigating the case and being questioned Vijay. Police said they are on the lookout for two men who visited her last week, after the building’s watchman said he saw two men entering the premises with Chaudhary around 2.30am on June 7 or June 8.

On Monday, police received a call from residents, complaining of a pungent odour emanating from Chaudhary’s flat. The main door was locked from the outside. Police broke open the ventilator window and found her body on the bed. They said the air conditioner had been left on. The killers may have been done this to ensure that the body did not decompose quickly, said police.

“She was half-naked. Her legs were hanging off the bed. She was wearing a night dress. Her face had been covered with a piece of cloth,” said a police source. Police suspect the cloth may have been used to smother her. She had a head injury and might have been assaulted. Police said primary investigations did not lead them to believe that anything was stolen.They are examining CCTV camera footage to find leads.
