While talking to Dailybhaskar.com, Mahima Makwana said, “I have seen lots of ups and downs in my personal life. I was just 13 when I started my acting career. But getting into acting was no easy for me. I still remember, I had given more than 500 auditions at a stretch and all were rejected. After failing in so many auditions, I had given up in my head. But it was mom who motivated me to pursue my dream of becoming an actress. She believed in me and it was her dedication that made me the person who I am today. Thankfully, all her hard work paid off when I was signed for Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke as the protagonist. And now, there is no looking back. I feel proud to see myself surviving in this industry without any Godfather (smiles).”

Shedding more light on her journey from a chawl to a posh flat, the actress further adds, “Believe me or not, I have been through that time when people demotivated me saying that I should buy a house and a car at least on a rent. They said that coming from a chawl doesn’t suit an actor’s personality. But why the hell should I listen to them? I had my own house, so what if it’s in a chawl? I had a dream of buying a house with my own money. The background of your house doesn’t matter at all. It’s just the hard work and dedication that matters in the end,” said Mahima Makwana.
