Manoj had first met his wife Sushmita seven years back through a common friend and started dating. Their first date was at a small cafe in Howrah. After seven years of relationship, Manoj Tiwary married Sushmita Roy at the Howrah Country Club on July 18, 2013.
It is reportedly said that Sushmita got finally convinced to marry Manoj after he smashed a six of Mumbai Indians pacer Lasith Malinga during Indian Premier League 2012. Manoj said that the big-hit was an answer to Sushmita, who had doubted whether Manoj had abilities to hit a six against the Sri Lankan bowler.
