Vivek Oberoi starrer PM Narendra Modi which was ready for it’s release on April 5, has been tentatively postponed by a week.

According to sources, ‘PM Narendra Modi’ is having some trouble with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) as they had asked for 4 cuts and the makers, director Omung Kumar and producer Sandip Ssingh had complied. 

 As of now, film’s release has been indefinitely postponed and no new date has been announced as yet.

Meanwhile a Special Leave Petition (SLP) was also filed in the Supreme Court today, challenging the Bombay High Court order and seeking a stay on release of film PM Narendra Modi. The Bombay High Court, on April 2, had disposed off the PIL seeking a stay on the film’s release.

Vivek, on Wednesday, denied that the film was part of any propaganda. “This film is an inspirational story, it’s not funded by anyone, proper documentation has been submitted. Allegations can be made on anyone, where is the proof,” he said.

“This is not a political film, it is a fascinating and inspirational story of a chai wala (tea vendor) in Vadnagar rising to such level without having the backing of a big family, English education and resources. This film shows what he went through. This biopic shows that anybody can become Prime Minister,” he added.
