Popular for her role of Anandi in ‘Balika Vadhu’, Pratyusha was found hanging in her Goregaon flat by her partner Rahul Raj Singh on the evening of April 1, 2016. Rahul was subsequently charged with abetment of suicide. He is out on bail right now.

He says, “In life whatever do for the first time like your first car, your first show, your first heroine is always special. Pratyusha is very dear to me for that any many more reasons. I know it may sound cliched but I still can’t believe that Pratyusha is not with us.”

Shashank also shares how they both used to wait at a railway station to go to the set. He says,“We had a great bonding, we were like buddies. I used to come from Santacruz and she used to come from Andheri and we used to wait for each other and then we used to head for Naigaon our set at that point of time.”
“One thing which I used to be very jealous of was Pratyusha’s memory. she used to have a razor sharp memory and remember long dialogues. I used to take a long time to remember the lines.”
Shahsank also shares that when it comes to creativity they had few fights but that happened for better outputs. He adds,“When we both started with Balika Vadhu we wanted to prove our talent in front of the Industry, so our focus was work and only work. I have seen her growth. She used to share her personal problems with me. And off the camera we used to have a lot of discussion on life and our work.”
He says,“All actors on television are artists. they are not legends or stars. When you are not doing a show you are no one. To become an artist one should have purity in heart, I enjoy my success and fame but I have never taken it seriously. Reality check is very important for an actor. People nowadays doesn’t work for only roti kapda makaan, they also want followers and likes on their social networking sites.Right understanding of what you want in life is very important and one must have the right support system in life and career. I wish Pratyusha was alive. People should take a lesson from her life and find a balance in whatever they do”.
Shashank Vyas is seen in Star Plus’ show “Jaana Na Dil Se Door”.
