SAD! Star Plus’ popular show ‘Naamkarann’ finally to go off air!

Here is a bad news for all the fans of Star Plus popular show ‘Naamkarann’ starring Zain Imam and Aditi Rathore as the show is all set to go off air.

From the past few months, there have been news regarding show going off air is doing the rounds, but now the show’s makers revealed the date on which the show will go off air.

According to reports the show is going off-air on May 18, 2018, co-incidentally the date also happens to be the birthday of the leading actor Zain Imam.

“Speculations have been rife that the show will end soon for some time now but now we have a date. While we have managed to sustain the ratings for long, it’s time to end it on a high rather than dragging the narrative. We plan to wrap up the shoot by the end of this month. While there is no clarity on the last telecast, we’re told May 18 could be it.” source said.

When Zain was contacted by TOI, he said, “I’m not sure about the exact reason but we, too, have been hearing that a lot of shows will be axed. The channel is planning to revamp. Since we’re not leading the slot, they’ve decided to take the show off air. However, I’m happy that the audience liked the show and the feedback, especially for my character, has been encouraging. Besides, I also feel that it’s better to end a show when it’s still doing well. I want to thank my fans for their immense support and love.”

Directed by legendary Mahesh Bhatt, produced by Guroudev Bhalla and flaunting a stellar star cast of Barkha Bisht, Viraf Phiroz Patel, Reema Lagoo, Sayantani Ghosh and more, “Naamkarann” seemed to be a very promising story.

The show is touted to be based on Mahesh Bhatt’s 1998 Bollywood film, “Zakhm”.

As per the report, the cast is yet to be informed about this decision, but the shoot for the show will wrap up this month.
