Bollywood actor Salman Khan is gearing up for his next venture Bharat. In the film, the 53-year-old actor will sport five different looks for the film. The film will chronicle Salman’s journey from the age of 18 to 70.
Ahead of the film’s release, Bharat‘s director, Ali Abbas Zafar talked about Salman Khan’s transformation in the film.
Salman Khan took over 2.5 hours every day to look old in Bharat
He said, “This was a difficult task and one has to be very patient with the procedure. It took almost two-and-a-half hours to transform Salman into an older avatar. He had to try over 20 different moustaches and beards for this look.”
The director says they used major prosthetics for Salman’s older portion. “The prosthetics were designed by a UK-based company and executed with Indian make-up artistes. SK sir also tried over 20 different kinds of beards and moustaches for this look,” he states, adding, “It’s a very tedious process, but he would be patient. It would take him two-and-a-half hours to get ready. After the narration, he understood that not only did the script demand it, but this look is also very significant in keeping with his character graph. He was very supportive about the idea and the entire process.”
Bharat is an official remake of a Korean film An Ode To My Father. It depicts the history of India through the life of an ordinary man.
Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the film will release on Eid, June 5.
