Comedian Sunil Grover is once again the trouble. After his infamous fight with Kapil Sharma, Sunil quit The Kapil Sharma Show and was concentrating more on live shows.
His upcoming live gig is slated for May 27 in Ahmedabad, but the show has landed in some legal trouble as an Ahmedabad-based organiser Rajpal Shah has filed a complaint of cheating and criminal conspiracy against him and event organiser Devang Shah regarding the show.
Rajpal Shah has alleged that Devang and Sunil’s manager promised to organize an event with the comedian, but breached the contract and are now holding a similar event at a different location in Ahmedabad, reportedly for a higher price.
However, event organiser Devang Shah has a different thing to say regarding the whole matter. He talked to Ahmedabad Times and said, “We keep on getting 4-5 enquiries for one specific date regarding Sunil’s performances in India as well as abroad. In this case, we were not keen on doing the event on May 27 due to another concert happening on the same day. Rajpal Shah also enquired for the possibility of May 20, which couldn’t be worked out due to Sunil’s tight schedule. I returned him the advance amount of Rs 10 lakh. So there’s no case of cheating and I have all the bank-statements which I can present for the same.”
On the other hand, Rajpal’s lawyer Ashish Desai has something else to say. He was quoted saying, “The complaint is under cheating and criminal breach of trust contract. The complainant is at the loss of good-will and must have suffered some financial losses of cancellation charges from the venue, security, hospitality team as well as must have gotten into some problems from the sponsors as well. Although, all of this needs to be proved in the court that’s when it will be taken into consideration.”
