Bollywood actor Sunny Deol who recently joined BJP has filed his nomination papers for the Lok Sabha 2019 polls from Punjab’s Gurdaspur on Monday.

The actor was accompanied by his brother Bobby Deol.

The actor offered prayer at the Golden Temple in Amritsar ahead of filling his nomination papers. 

Sporting a navy blue turban and wearing a blue shirt, the actor offered prayers at the Golden Temple. He also offered prayers at the Durgiana Temple.

Gurdaspur parliamentary constituency was earlier represented by actor Vinod Khanna who won from here four times – 1998, 1999, 2004 and 2014 – on a BJP ticket.

The 62-year-old actor’s father Dharmendra had represented the BJP and contested the 2004 Lok Sabha elections from Rajasthan’s Bikaner and emerged victorious. Sunny Deol’s step-mother and actor Hema Malini represents Mathura for the BJP and has been active in politics.

The actor held his first roadshow in Rajasthan’s Barmer on Saturday.
