Dozen’s of the actress has come and gone from the industry, some make a powerful impact while many didn’t make an impact were quickly forgotten, there were some who had a promising start in the industry yet, before we knew it, disappeared without a trace.

Have a look at these 10 Bollywood actresses of the 2000s, who came like a spark and then just got disappeared.

1.Mahima Chaudhary

Mahima Chaudhary had a great film career, where she justified herself well. Even with films such as ‘Pardes’ (1997), ‘Dhadkan’ (2000) and ‘Lajja’ (2001) to her credit but has been unable to make a name for herself. Mahima acted with all the big banners in the film industry but didn’t get a chance to prove her acting prowess and is now nowhere to be seen.

Ameesha Patel made her Bollywood debut with a blockbuster film “Kaho Na Pyaar Hai” opposite Hrithik Roshan in 2000. As the year passed, Ameesha didn’t do many good films. Even as a supportive actor, she couldn’t leave a mark in audience’s mind.  Her last film, ‘Shortcut Romeo’, was also a box-office flop.

The former Miss India Celina Jaitley made her debut with Feroz Khan’s ‘Janasheen’ opposite lead actor Fardeen Khan in 2003. After that, she has also played many supporting roles in multi-stars movies. However, she was an unsuccess and much-forgotten actress today.

Femina Miss India Universe, Tanushree made her acting debut in 2005, appearing in Chocolate and Aashiq Banaya Apne. Both Chocolate and Aashiq Banaya Apne were box office failures. She had done many films like Risk, Good Boy, Bad Boy, Speed, Saas Bahu Aur Sensex but failed to impress the audience.

Pretty as a picture, Sneha Ullal was introduced to Bollywood by Salman Khan as Aishwarya Rai’s doppelganger. She made her debut opposite Salman Khan in ‘Lucky – No Time For Love’ (2005). But the beauty was soon forgotten just as her debut movie and she landed herself in South film industry.

6. Kim Sharma

Kim Sharma who came in the film industry in the year 2000 in “Mohabbatein”. She completely got disappeared after her first movie only. The only other time she hit the headlines was been linked up with the famous cricketer Yuvraj Singh.

7. Gracy Singh

The pretty actress started her career as a dancer in the dance group “The Planets” along with Ronica Jacobs. She shot to fame for playing the role of Dinki in Zee TV’s serial ‘Amanat’ in 1997.  Gracy forayed in Bollywood with her movie Lagaan opposite Aamir Khan. Nominated for the Oscars, the movie received international acclaim. Unfortunately, the lead actress was forgotten and after acting in movies like Desh Drohi, Gangaajal, Munnabhai M.B.B.S,  the actress is completely out of Bollywood.

Gayatri Joshi made her debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in ‘Swades’ (2004). We all loved her in the movie.  But the actress tied the knot soon after and just makes appearances as a socialite now.

9. Bhumika Chawla

Bhumika Chawla

Another of Salman Khan’s finds, Bhumika made her debut opposite Dabangg Khan in the movie Tere Naam. The movie breaks all the record on Box Office but post that the actress was nowhere to be seen. She tied the knot with her long-time boyfriend and Yoga teacher Bharat Thakur on 21 October 2007 and say goodbye to the industry.

10. Preeti Jhangiani

Preeti is another victim of the ‘Mohabbatein’ jinx. B-grade flicks and slapstick fares fill her Bollywood resume. She was last seen in the 2007 release titled ‘Sajna Ve Sajna’.

11. Namarata Shirodkar

Namarata Shirodkar had played a very good role in her limited movies and some of them are “Vastaav” (1999), “Pukar” (2000) and “Astitva” (2003). After marrying Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu, Namarata got settled and stopped herself from entering into Bollywood film industry again.

12. Shamita Shetty

She made her debut with Aditya Chopra’s Big B-SRK starrer ‘Mohabbatein’. After a string of B-grade flicks and an item number in ‘Saathiya’, Shamita tried to revive her career with ‘Zeher’ (2005) and ‘Cash’ (2007). Latest news about her is that she will star in all the films produced by Shilpa Shetty’s S2 Global Productions Private Limited.
