Here’s how to tell the difference between a real note and a fake one.

1. the colour of the note is magenta

2. it’s dimension is 66mm x 166mm

3. India’s Mars orbiter, Mangalyaan is printed on its back side.

4. Just next to Mahatma Gandhi portrait, letters “RBI” & “2000” are embossed in tiny font.

5. RBI Governor’s signature & symbol could be seen on exact right side of Mahatma Gandhi portrait.

6. then, there is colour changing security thread just near to RBI emblem.

7. a serial number can be seen starting from a smaller and increasing in size on the bottom right and top left of the note.

8. a ₹2000 mark in colouring changing ink can be found on exact above right bottom serial number.
