Urvashi Dholakia and ex Anuj Sachdeva have reportedly been eliminated from Nach Baliye 9. Urvashi and Anuj have constantly been in the bottom two since the beginning of this season. Seems like, luck wasn’t in their favour this week.
However, it seems like the decision is not go well down with Urvashi and she slams the makers of the show. She accused the makers of “partiality towards certain couples” while adding that “if there’s no drama, then there’s no prize.“
Urvashi Dholakia slams makers of Nach Baliye 9
“I am not ready to believe that 35 years of work leads to a low fan base. Where’s the score board to show where each of us stands when it comes to audience’s votes plus judges’ scores? This is not the first time that I have done a reality show, but yes, it’s the first time that I have seen this kind of biased judgment. After getting a standing ovation from almost 300 people on the set for a performance, which I know was way better than the marks we received, we get eliminated. I cannot and will not stop myself from speaking against unfair behaviour. We deserved to be treated fairly.”
Urvashi also feels that the show is less about dancing and more about drama. She said, “But on Nach…, it clearly seems like if there’s no drama, then there’s no prize. It’s not a dance competition, but a drama competition! I don’t regret being a part of the show, but what’s deplorable is the way the show has been formatted, without any clarity in voting, with partiality towards certain couples and without giving everyone a fair stage.”
Rochelle Rao and Keith Sequeira were the first jodi to be eliminated from the show, followed by Vindu Dara Singh and his wife Dina Umarova’s eviction.
The current season of Nach Baliye sees ex couples and the present ones as well. This season of the dance-based reality show is produced by Bollywood actor, Salman Khan.
