Actor-turned politician Sunny Deol has recently escaped unhurt after the tyre of the vehicle he was traveling in burst on the Amritsar-Gurdaspur national highway.
At least four vehicles in Sunny Deol’s convoy rammed into each other, though no one was injured. The actor was on his way for a roadshow. After the accident, Mr Deol resumed his journey.
The actor-turned-politician’s cavalcade was going towards Fatehgarh Churian where he had to campaign, senior police officer said.
Sunny Deol escapes unhurt
“Out of four, one vehicle belonged to a villager, rest other vehicles were part of Mr. Deol’s cavalcade,” said police.
Deol is pitted against Congress candidate and sitting MP Sunil Jakhar from Gurdaspur Lok Sabha seat.

The 62-year-old actor’s father Dharmendra had represented the BJP and contested the 2004 Lok Sabha elections from Rajasthan’s Bikaner and emerged victorious. Sunny Deol’s step-mother and actor Hema Malini represents Mathura for the BJP and has been active in politics.
